Six-week Mindfulness Course
Ancient wisdom for modern living
How to cope with 35,000 thoughts per day?
Research suggests that the average person has between 12,000-60,000 thoughts per day, of which 95% are repetitive and 80% negative. Furthermore 85% of our worries never actually happen. These thoughts can fall into categories of patterns such as blaming, fortune-telling and auto-pilot thinking. We are caught the web of I ‘should have’ (past) or what if (future) thoughts and we are rarely in the present moment, which is arguably our only real place of awareness, control or influence.
Yet the question is, how can we develop and sustain a mindful way of living,so that we can gain the ability to calm the thoughts emotions and body in order to manage the stresses of modern day living? The solution is not only through practising mindfulness as a formal practice but integrating it into all areas of our lives.
